How-To Article: Building the Columbia Trolley Barn
In the early part of the 20th. century, trolleys were the main mode of transportation between Columbia and Marietta, Lancaster and points between.

The photo above was taken by John Denney, a local railroad historian and author of several articles on local railroad history. It shows a trolley at Second and Locust Streets in Columbia. The present day Historical Society Museum is visible on the right-hand side of the street. The article below describes how I built the model of the Columbia trolley barn on Commerce Street. Although the barn could actually hold 3 cars side-by-side, I built just a one-car barn.
